MEDICARE MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:

• Location: Akron OH 44305 – 100% on-site
• Payrate: $19/hr
• Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

MEDICARE MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:

The Medicare Member Service Representative will serve as the primary point of contact for members, providing empathetic and professional assistance with health insurance inquiries regarding enrollment, benefits, and claims. The role is responsible for accurately documenting interactions, resolving complex member concerns using independent judgment, and ensuring all activities comply with healthcare regulatory standards.

• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

MEDICARE MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE | RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Member Support: Act as the primary point of contact for members regarding enrollment, benefits, eligibility, billing, claims, and authorizations.
• Documentation: Record all inquiries and complaints accurately in the tracking system (Amisys/Macess), ensuring appropriate routing for resolution.
• Quality & Integrity: Meet or exceed departmental production and quality standards while maintaining the strict confidentiality of member health information.
• Problem Solving: Use independent judgment to resolve member concerns with a "customer-first" attitude, projecting empathy and confidence in every call.
• Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the health insurance industry, including governing rules and regulations (Medicare/GMP).

MEDICARE MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE | REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable); college experience is a plus.
• Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
• 1+ years of experience in call center, or administrative support.
• Background in Medicare and/or health insurance required.
• Proficiency in Windows environments, including keyboarding, VPN access, and managing computer-based information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain a calm, non-confrontational demeanor.
• Physical: Ability to sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
