What You’ll Do
- Keep Meds on Track: Safely and accurately administer medications according to physician orders and resident care plans.
- Know Your Residents: Learn their routines, preferences, personalities, and what makes them smile.
- Make an Epic Impact: The little things matter. A conversation, a laugh, or taking a few extra minutes can completely change someone’s day.
- Be Their Extra Set of Eyes: Notice changes in condition, side effects, or concerns and communicate them promptly to the nursing team.
- Lend a Hand: Support residents with daily activities while encouraging independence and always protecting their dignity.
- Keep It Accurate: Stay on top of medication records and documentation so everything is complete and up to date.
- Have Each Other’s Back: Jump in, communicate, and work together to give residents the best experience possible.
- Bring the Good Energy: Help make Astoria a place where residents feel at home and team members enjoy coming to work.
What You Bring
- You’re Certified: Active 40-hour Medication Aide certification.
- You Care About People: You have compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to work with older adults.
- You’re Dependable: Residents and coworkers know they can count on you.
- You Communicate: You’re comfortable connecting with residents, families, nurses, and fellow team members.
- You Notice the Details: You understand that accuracy matters, especially with medications and documentation.
- You Can Handle the Tech: Basic computer skills for medication tracking and resident documentation.
- You’re a Team Player: You’re ready to jump in, help out, and work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
