    Job Description

    Position Summary:
    The Medication Tech is responsible for supervision of self-administered medication to Assisted Living
    residents, following the guidelines provided by Senior Solutions Management Group and State Regulations. The Caregiver is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living as per their plan of care. This position reports to the Wellness Director.

    Essential Functions:

    • Responsible for supervision of self-administered medication for the Assisted Living Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and SSMG guidelines as directed by the Wellness Director.
    • Reports any change in resident’s health and provides proper documentation to
      the Wellness Director.
    • Responds quickly to all emergencies.
    • Maintains close communication with all departments and staff members.
    • Provides educational meetings for residents and staff as requested by
      Supervisor.
    • Understands role in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
    • Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
    • Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
    • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of
      accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working
      practices.
    • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and
      co-workers.
    • Adheres to all policies and procedures of SSMG.
    • Assist residents in Assisted Living with activities of daily living as determined by their individual plan of care.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

    •  A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months
    • related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
      experience.
    • Home Health Aid, Personal Care Aid, Private Caregiver
    • Must be trainable and available for onsite training, medication training by RN Delegator
    • Must be trainable and available for onsite caregiving training.
    • Must be flexible with scheduling and have transportation to and from work for scheduled shifts
    • Must have reliable transportation and child care. 
    • Position also requires resident care when not assisting with medication administration
