Medication Technician


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately administering with assistance medication to residents, monitoring their health status, and assisting with their overall care needs. This role is pivotal in ensuring resident safety and providing exceptional support to the nursing and healthcare team.


- Administer with assistance prescribed medications to patients in accordance with healthcare provider instructions and facility protocols.
- Document medication assistance with administration, including dosage, time, and reactions, in resident EMR records accurately and timely.
- Monitor Residents for changes in condition and report any adverse reactions or concerns to the nursing staff promptly. 
- Assist with resident assessments and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement resident care plans.
- Maintain medication inventory and ensure proper storage and handling according to safety regulations.
- Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding medication regimens and the health management team. 
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for residents and staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in medication assistance with administration and resident care.

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved medication technician training program is required.
- Certification as a Medication Technician (CMT) or equivalent credential, as mandated by state regulations.
- Proven experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing home, assisted living, or similar environment.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on compassionate patient care.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems are a plus.
