What You'll Do
- Travel to customer locations throughout the Converse / San Antonio area to perform maintenance and repairs on light and medium duty vehicles, including gas and diesel-powered pickup trucks (Ford F-250, F-350, and similar platforms).
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues in the field using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
- Execute both scheduled and unscheduled mobile repairs with minimal supervision, ensuring safety and performance standards.
- Communicate clearly with customers on-site, providing detailed service recommendations and updates.
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities.
- Stay current on industry advancements and apply expertise to improve repair processes.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience repairing light to medium duty gas and diesel vehicles.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel pickup trucks, including Ford Power Stroke engines (6.7L, 6.0L, 7.3L), is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of automotive electrical systems, fuel systems, and general drivetrain components.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field under pressure.
- Ability to provide own tools suitable for the job.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required — you'll be operating a company-provided service vehicle daily.
- Ability to pass background checks.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varied outdoor and roadside environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certifications (A-series automotive or L1 Advanced Engine Performance).
- Ford-specific training or dealership experience is a strong plus.
- Prior field service or mobile repair experience.
- Strong communication and customer service skills — you'll be the face of Transwest at every job site.
