a

Medium/Heavy

Truck

and

Equipment

Instructor

to

deliver

hands-on,

career-focused

instruction

for

high

school

students

in

a

modern

CTE

environment.

Working

in

a

full-service

lab,

you

will

guide

students

through

core

units

of

study-including

Engine

Service,

Electrical

Systems,

Hydraulics,

Air

Brakes,

and

essential

Shop/Welding

skills-while

training

them

to

maintain,

diagnose,

and

repair

heavy

equipment

like

semi-trucks,

bulldozers,

and

backhoe

loaders.

WHAT

WE

NEED:

In

this

pivotal

instructional

role,

you

will

design

and

execute

a

comprehensive,

competency-based

curriculum

that

aligns

state

Career

and

Technical

Education

(CTE)

standards

with

modern

industry

demands.

Managing

a

state-of-the-art,

regulation-compliant

shop

lab,

you

will

deliver

dynamic,

hands-on

instruction

in

core

technical

areas-including

engine

overhaul,

electrical

diagnostics,

hydraulic

systems,

air

brakes,

and

foundational

shop

processes

like

precision

machining

and

welding.

You

will

mentor

students

in

the

safe

operation,

routine

maintenance,

and

complex

troubleshooting

of

industrial

assets

such

as

semi-trucks,

bulldozers,

and

backhoe

loaders,

culminating

in

practical

spring

field

operations.

Integrating

modern

instructional

technologies

and

administrative

systems,

you

will

track

student

progress

while

instilling

rigorous

workplace

safety

protocols,

professional

ethics,

and

customer

service

skills.

Beyond

the

classroom,

you

will

cultivate

strategic

partnerships

with

advisory

boards,

post-secondary

institutions,

and

local

employers

to

foster

Work-Based

Learning

opportunities,

support

CTSO

student

leadership,

and

maintain

a

direct

pipeline

to

lucrative

careers-preparing

graduates

for

immediate

success

as

certified

technicians,

equipment

operators,

field

supervisors,

and

industry

specialists.

WHAT

YOU

NEED:

Bachelor's

Degree

in

Education

and

work

experience

in

Mechanics,

Vehicle

Maintenance,

and/or

Repair

Technologies

preferred.

Valid

Michigan

Teaching

Certificate

with

Secondary

Education

Endorsement

preferred.

Must

possess

at

least

one

of

the

following:

Standard

CTE

Certificate

or

Professional

CTE

Certificate

(areas

listed

below),

or

be

eligible

for

an

Annual

Career

Authorization.

Medium/Heavy

Vehicle

and

Truck

Technology/Technician

a

high

school

diploma

and

a

minimum

of

at

least

two

years

of

documented

work

hours

in

a

related

field

(within

the

past

six

years)

may

qualify

for

an

Annual

Career

Authorization

experience

working

with

students

diverse
