Job Description:

Member Account Protection Investigator

Location: Anaheim, California (Partial Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking a senior-level Financial Crimes and Fraud Investigator. This role supports regulatory reporting, suspicious activity investigations, SAR development, and fraud mitigation efforts. The investigator will independently examine transaction alerts, determine SAR filing requirements, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and conduct complex financial crime investigations from intake through resolution.
  • Investigate suspicious activity and transaction alerts to identify potential fraud.
  • Develop and write Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) based on investigation findings.
  • Ensure all activities comply with FINCEN, BSA, and AML regulations and requirements.
  • Support broader fraud mitigation and regulatory reporting functions.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in banking, credit union operations, financial crimes, fraud investigations, AML, or BSA.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
  • Experience investigating suspicious activity and transaction alerts.
  • Knowledge of FINCEN, BSA, and AML regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to independently manage complex financial crime investigations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CAMS and/or CFE certification.
  • Previous experience in a credit union environment.
  • Familiarity with Verafin, Symitar, Fiserv, or FIS software.
