About the Role

At Southland Credit Union, our Member Experience Advisor, Floater serves as a relationship-focused financial partner, delivering exceptional service while supporting multiple Financial Center locations throughout the Southland Credit Union branch network. Assigned to the Los Alamitos Financial Center as their home branch, this position regularly travels to other branch locations to provide staffing coverage, operational support, and a consistent, high-quality member experience.

 

As a universal banker, you'll confidently assist members with everything from everyday transactions to opening new accounts, supporting lending conversations, and connecting them with products and digital solutions that fit their needs. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

What You'll Be Doing

  • Travel to and provide coverage at Financial Center locations throughout the branch network as business needs dictate while maintaining consistent service and operational standards.

  • Deliver exceptional service through consultative conversations that prioritize financial guidance, relationship building, and a member-first approach.

  • Build meaningful relationships by identifying member needs and recommending products, services, and solutions that support their financial well-being.

  • Process member transactions accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of operational excellence.

  • Open memberships and deposit accounts while providing a welcoming and seamless onboarding experience.

  • Support consumer lending conversations and guide members confidently through the application process.

  • Promote digital banking tools and self-service solutions that enhance convenience and improve the member experience.

  • Conduct outbound member outreach, schedule appointments, and follow up on relationship-building opportunities.

  • Support community engagement initiatives by welcoming and onboarding members generated through community events and partnerships.

  • Meet established service, membership growth, referral, digital adoption, and production goals.

  • Maintain compliance with operational procedures, security standards, audit requirements, and regulatory guidelines while supporting the overall success of the Financial Center.

Knowledge and Skills:

What You'll Bring

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of customer service or financial institution experience preferred.

  • Previous teller, new accounts, or lending experience preferred.

  • Experience working in sales, service, or relationship-focused environments preferred.

  • Experience handling member problem resolution and consultative conversations preferred.

  • Experience meeting production, referral, or performance goals preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Notary Public preferred or the ability to obtain.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a consultative, relationship-building approach.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with standard office technology and business systems.

  • Strong operational accountability and commitment to service excellence.

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn multiple functions within the Financial Center.

  • Ability to balance production goals with delivering an outstanding member experience.

  • Adapt quickly to different Financial Center teams, workflows, and member needs while maintaining a high level of service and operational excellence.

Travel

  • Regular local travel between Financial Center locations is required.
  • Must maintain reliable transportation and the ability to travel between branch locations as scheduled.
  • Valid California driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.
