The PERA Member Experience Event Strategist is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of PERA's annual portfolio of member programs and events, including PERA Day Camp, seasonal family events, member enrichment activities, and other employee engagement experiences. This role works closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, volunteers, and event staff to deliver high-quality programs that create meaningful experiences and engagement opportunities for PERA members. The Event Strategist supports all aspects of event execution, including planning, logistics, vendor coordination, budget tracking, onsite operations, and post-event evaluation to ensure successful outcomes and exceptional member experiences.
Member Program & Event Planning
Support the planning, development, and execution of PERA's annual calendar of member programs, events, and recreational activities.
Coordinate logistics, timelines, registration processes, and communications.
Assist with the planning and administration of PERA Day Camp and other signature member programs.
Event Coordination & Execution
Develop detailed event plans, schedules, layouts, and operational timelines.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure all event requirements are planned and executed effectively.
Assist with event setup, execution, and breakdown activities to ensure a seamless attendee experience.
Vendor Management
Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, entertainers, rental providers, and service partners.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure services are delivered as expected.
Support vendor contracting, invoicing, and event-day coordination.
On-Site Management
Serve as a key onsite resource during select events and programs.
Coordinate venue setup, catering, audiovisual needs, signage, registration, and attendee flow.
Anticipate and resolve operational challenges to ensure successful event delivery.
Budget Administration
Track event and program expenses and assist with budget administration.
Process invoices, manage purchase requests, and maintain financial records.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality experiences.

Experience
Five years of experience in event coordination, program administration, recreation programming, community events, or a related field.
Experience coordinating events, managing vendors, supporting onsite operations, and tracking budgets preferred.
Experience with family-focused programs, camps, recreational activities, or employee/member engagement initiatives is a plus.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Recreation, Communications, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
