What You Will Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that support core product features and AI-driven workflows.
• Architect backend services using Python and Django, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Deploy and manage infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), utilizing Kubernetes for efficient container orchestration.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid and reliable software delivery across the engineering team.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers to seamlessly integrate AI and ML models into production systems.
• Contribute to technical decision-making and system design reviews, influencing engineering best practices as a senior team member.
• Uphold high standards for security and data privacy, given the sensitive nature of tax-related information.

Ideal Candidate Background

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with Django or similar frameworks in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience deploying services on GCP and managing workloads with Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in a collaborative setting.
• Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.

Preferred

• Experience with integrating ML inference services or building complex data pipelines.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools to enhance backend processes.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary ranges from $200K to $325K, commensurate with experience. Additionally, there is equity participation in an early-stage company with significant upside potential, along with the opportunity to be a foundational technical voice in a transformative industry.
