Job Summary:
The Member Outreach Officer (Community Outreach Specialist) I serves as a brand ambassador within the local community to promote the benefits of EdFed membership, while supporting strategic growth of the business and pursuing opportunities for ongoing acquisition of new members, loans and deposit accounts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in providing insight, ideas and recommendations regarding increasing credit union exposure and membership.
Build a culture of serving others by organizing and facilitating opportunities to serve and get exposure in the community.
Promotes the benefits of EdFed membership through external events at local schools, colleges, and associations within the existing field of membership.
Collaborates with Marketing, Retail, and Lending stakeholders in the creation of targeted promotional campaigns.
Assists with new membership and lending applications at field-based events to drive successful achievement of organizational growth objectives.
Participates in branch meetings and huddles to share best practices in membership marketing while serving as a subject-matter mentor to peers / staff.
Maintains annual events calendar.
Assists in the deployment of retail marketing campaigns, including facilitation of outbound promotions via lobby, phone, and sponsor on-sites.
Stays abreast of individual community trends and economic development changes. Tracks and measures event participation results. Makes recommendations to maximize return on future investments of events, sponsorships, philanthropic initiatives and donations.
Maintain records and prepare monthly reports on community outreach activities, business relationships, Select Employee Group engagement efforts, and the results of those activities.
This position requires organization, the setting of daily priorities to meet deadlines, and requires multi-tasking of functions to complete the job.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required to have the ability to travel throughout all regions to provide staffing assistance when necessary.
Must have comfort in speaking in front of both small and large groups including in classroom presentations and community events.
Weekend, evening hours and travel may be required.
Job Qualifications & Specifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Positive, dynamic leader with strong ability to build relationships and network
Strong organization, prioritization, analytical and problem solving ability.
Team player with ability to interact with all levels of staff in the organization.
Working knowledge of PC applications including Microsoft Office.
Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
