Works under the supervision of Supervisor or designee. First contact for potential members. Assists members in all areas, maintaining a high retention rate by professionally and effectively assisting members with any and all problems, questions, and/or issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist potential members; answers questions; refers to appropriate staff when necessary; completes new registration and assessment forms; answers phones; conducts tours
- Assist Member Service staff with handling changes, and/or questions in member accounts, including downgrades, holds, resignations, etc..
- Track interest profiles, call members and inform them of upcoming events.
- Complete suggestion/concern cards insuring they are handled correctly.
- Keep all brochures/registration forms current and available.
- Sell gift certificates.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings.
- Contacts members when appropriate for membership needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: N/A
Certification: HeartSaver CPR/AED certification through American Heart Association OR Basic Life Support through American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
These are two different certificates; only one is required.
Preferences
Education: High School diploma or GED Equivalent or college level degree.
Experience: One year of experience in customer service.

- Other potential hazards: Electrical due to various computer/office equipment being utilized.
Work Requirements
- Able to answer phones, speak clearly and professionally.
- Develops positive interaction and communication with members, guests, staff.
- Understand wellness center programming, cost structure, and processes.
- Able to consistently stand and walk throughout facility; some bending, stooping, lifting of 10-20 pounds.
- Able to hear calls for help.
