Membership Sales And Engagement Representative

The Membership Sales and Engagement Representative will collaborate with the Membership Manager and North American Membership team to drive membership growth, retention, and revenue across IAAPA's North American region. This is a high-touch, front-line sales role focused on converting prospective members, advancing renewal opportunities, strengthening member relationships, and ensuring companies clearly understand the business value of IAAPA membership. The role will actively manage phone and email outreach to prospects and current members, support new member acquisition, accelerate renewal follow-up, maintain company roster updates, and help members access the benefits that support their engagement, including IAAPA.org account access and member pricing IAAPA events and expos. The Membership Sales and Engagement Representative will also be responsible for IAAPA North America membership sales activities, including direct solicitation, prospect pipeline development, and targeted follow-up.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as a front-line sales and service contact for IAAPA Members and prospects by phone and email, actively uncovering needs, positioning membership value, overcoming questions or objections, and moving prospects and members toward joining, renewing, or expanding engagement.
  • Own the member application follow-up process from inquiry through activation, including reviewing incoming applications, entering new member data, invoicing, and following up on payment information to help convert qualified prospects into active members.
  • Work with the accounting / finance department regarding membership payments and activation.
  • Coordinate all activities relative to new member orientation processing including the distribution of membership certificates and roster creation.
  • Drive the annual membership renewal campaign through invoicing, targeted outreach, timely follow-up, and value-based communication designed to protect renewal revenue and meet or exceed retention goals.
  • Recognize important membership anniversaries and milestones.
  • Partner with team leaders to execute membership sales and marketing strategies that generate leads, move prospects through the sales pipeline, and help reach or exceed targeted membership sales goals.
  • Research, qualify, and pursue new membership prospects, building a pipeline of potential members and maintaining consistent outreach to create new sales opportunities and support long-term retention.
  • Track sales activity, prospect status, renewal follow-up, and member engagement trends to support pipeline visibility, forecasting, and progress toward membership growth goals.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of all membership data files; implement quality control mechanisms; perform data entry and oversee the data entry process; recommend and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for data entry when necessary.
  • Develops and produces accurate and timely routine and special reports, and data retrievals as needed.
  • At IAAPA Expo, support IAAPA as a primary membership sales and service resource for attendees, promoting membership value, answering prospect questions, supporting on-site joins and renewals, and helping convert event engagement into lasting membership relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Detailed understanding of database functions and utilization.
  • Understanding of data reporting.
  • Self-starter with the ability to proactively manage outreach, follow-up, pipeline activity, and competing priorities.
  • Sales driven, with confidence initiating conversations, qualifying needs, communicating value, handling objections, and guiding prospects and members toward action.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals, manage sales activity, track pipeline progress, and follow through consistently on acquisition and renewal opportunities.
  • Persuasive written and verbal communicator with the ability to build trust, present membership benefits clearly, and connect IAAPA's value proposition to each prospect's or member's needs.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of various database software such as Salesforce or Fonteva preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite at our Headquarters office in Orlando, Florida.
