Nesco Resource is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Membrane Operator to join a leading local production company in Webster, NY. This DIRECT HIRE offers the chance to work in a state-of-the-art food manufacturing environment while operating advanced membrane filtration systems used in dairy processing. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to monitor production processes while maintaining strict food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
$28.00 - $29.00/Hour
Shift Differential: Additional $2.00/hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
12-Hour Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule: Work every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
Operate membrane filtration systems, processing equipment, and associated production controls
Monitor and adjust production parameters using Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems
Select appropriate tanks, silos, and production lines based on manufacturing schedules
Monitor membrane systems, heat exchangers, filtration equipment, and process variables
Collect product samples and perform quality checks while documenting test results accurately
Monitor water treatment, sterilization, and chemical dosing systems
Perform Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Clean-Out-of-Place (COP) sanitation procedures on equipment, tanks, silos, and production lines
Monitor chemical concentrations during sanitation cycles to ensure proper cleaning standards
Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance on pumps, valves, and heat exchangers
Troubleshoot minor equipment and process issues and escalate concerns when necessary
Complete production records, sanitation logs, and quality documentation accurately
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and all food safety guidelines
Complete daily sanitation, cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and preventive maintenance tasks
Communicate production updates, delays, or quality concerns with supervisors and other processing departments
Assist with onboarding and training new team members as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work environment
High School Diploma or GED required
Previous manufacturing, food production, dairy processing, or machine operation experience preferred
Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment and HMI systems preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMPs, and food safety regulations
Basic computer and documentation skills
Strong math and problem-solving abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable attendance and strong commitment to workplace safety and product quality
Comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
Food safety requirements:
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. independently and assist with heavier team lifts when required
Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a 12-hour shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting, and climbing stairs or ladders
Frequent pushing, pulling, and handling of hoses, pipe fittings, pumps, valves, and production equipment
Ability to work in varying temperatures, including warm production environments
Ability to perform repetitive cleaning, sanitation, and equipment maintenance tasks throughout the shift
Comfortable working around food manufacturing equipment while wearing required PPE and maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards
