Position Summary

The Memory Care Activities/Caregiver position plays a key role in supporting the daily engagement, well‑being, and care of our memory care residents. This role is responsible for planning and leading meaningful activities tailored to residents living with dementia, while also providing hands‑on caregiving support as needed. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, patient, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, resident‑focused environment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead activities: Develop and facilitate daily programs that support cognitive, social, and emotional engagement for memory care residents.

  • Adapt activities: Modify activities to meet varying levels of cognitive ability and physical function.

  • Provide caregiving support: Assist with resident care when needed, including transferring, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene.

  • Support mealtimes: Help serve meals, assist residents during dining, and ensure a positive, dignified experience.

  • Monitor resident well‑being: Observe and report changes in behavior, mood, or physical condition to nursing staff.

  • Maintain safe environments: Ensure activity spaces and care areas remain clean, organized, and safe.

  • Collaborate with team members: Work closely with caregivers, nurses, and leadership to support resident needs and community goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience with dementia care preferred but not required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lead groups and engage residents with varying cognitive abilities

  • Willingness to assist with hands‑on caregiving tasks

  • Ability to lift, transfer, and support residents safely

  • Creative, patient, and resident‑centered mindset
