As the Memory Programs Director, you will serve as the operational leader and dementia subject matter expert for our Memory Care neighborhood. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for overseeing dementia programming, resident engagement, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and the daily leadership of a large team of Memory Care caregivers and Dementia Activity Leaders.

The ideal candidate has successfully led a Memory Care program within a large Assisted Living or senior living community and has demonstrated success building high-performing teams, maintaining regulatory excellence, coaching caregivers, and partnering with clinical and operational leaders to deliver outstanding resident outcomes. Supported by experienced Regional and Corporate partners, you''ll help ensure Belmont Village''s nationally recognized Memory Care program continues to set the standard for resident care, engagement, and quality of life.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the daily operations of the Memory Care neighborhood, ensuring exceptional resident care, dementia programming, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the community''s dementia care expert, providing education, coaching, and ongoing support to team members, residents, and family members.
  • Recruit, hire, schedule, coach, develop, and lead a large team of Memory Care caregivers and Dementia Activity Leaders while fostering accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.
  • Conduct cognitive assessments for prospective and current residents and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans and meaningful resident programming.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with delivery of the company''s evidence-based Alzheimer''s and dementia programs that promote cognitive wellness, independence, dignity, and quality of life.
  • Partner closely with the Executive Director, Director of Resident Care Services, Regional leaders, and Corporate partners to support quality assurance, staffing, resident satisfaction, and operational performance.
  • Monitor program quality, resident participation, staffing effectiveness, and department performance while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state regulations, company policies, Memory Care standards, and staff training requirements.
  • Build trusted relationships with residents and families by providing education, communication, and ongoing support throughout the dementia journey.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field

  • Three (3) years of successful leadership experience as a Memory Care Director, Dementia Program Director, Memory Care Manager, or comparable leadership role within a large Assisted Living, Memory Care or senior living community.

  • Demonstrated success managing, coaching, scheduling, and developing large teams of caregivers and Memory Care staff in a fast-paced healthcare or senior living community environment

  • Extensive knowledge of Alzheimer''s disease, dementia care, cognitive engagement, behavioral interventions specific to dementia, and person-centered programming

  • Experience conducting resident assessments and partnering with interdisciplinary care teams to develop individualized service plans

  • Proficient use of technology in the workplace

  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, coaching, conflict resolution and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to work flexible schedules in 24 hour operation including weekends as needed

  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
