Position Summary:
The College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Memory Wellness Center (MWC) Activity Assistant in Boca Raton, FL
The Activity Assistant supports the planning and implementation of structured, therapeutic activities for adults with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia in a specialized adult day program. This role focuses on enhancing participants' quality of life by promoting engagement, maintaining functional abilities, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred to assist with personal care needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of appropriate experience required.
A CNA certification is strongly preferred.
Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia highly preferred.
Knowledge of dementia care best practices and person-centered approaches.
Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Basic organizational and time-management skills.
Salary:
$17.00 per hour.

Temporary positions are not established positions and are paid from OPS funds. Temporary positions are usually not eligible for benefits and retirement; however, they may be eligible for health insurance coverage depending on the average hours worked per week. They provide full-time or part-time employment in an exempt or non-exempt employment situation based on job duties and salary in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Temporary positions do not have layoff rights and may be terminated without prior notice.
