This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience at the intersection of museum collections, digital media, and emerging technologies.The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Collections, Experience, Education, and Exhibitions to enhance data quality, improve content delivery, and contribute to innovative visitor engagement initiatives.ResponsibilitiesCollections & Systems SupportSupport data cleanup and standardization efforts to ensure consistency across collections recordsReview and reconcile records between TMS, Piction, and web platforms to ensure alignment and accuracyResearch content publishing workflows across systems such as TMS, Piction, and Bloomberg ConnectsDigital Content & ExperienceSupport development and maintenance of digital content for exhibitions and permanent installationsContribute to the research, development, implementation, and evaluation of digital interpretation initiatives for Museum visitors onsite and online.Coordinate and support the linking of digital assets (images, audio, video) to corresponding TMS recordsAssist with app-based content creation and updates, including Bloomberg ConnectsAssist in preparing collections data for API integrations or digital publishing initiativesEnsure proper file naming conventions, rights information, and metadata are consistently appliedIdentify new resources and tools for staff to create, edit, and deliver audio and video contentReporting & Quality AssuranceGenerate and review basic reports from TMS to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated recordsParticipate in ongoing data quality audits and improvement initiativesDocument workflows and identify how new initiatives can align with existing procedures.Collaboration & CommunicationUtilize platforms such as Microsoft Teams for project coordination and communicationWork collaboratively across departments to meet deadlines and project goalsDocument processes and contribute to workflow improvements where applicableLearning OutcomesBy the end of this internship, participants will:Gain practical experience with museum collections systems and digital asset managementDevelop skills in digital content creation and publishing within a cultural institutionParticipate in innovative digital engagement and exhibition technologiesBuild professional experience collaborating across museum departmentsRequirementsCurrent college student (junior/senior preferred) or recent graduate in fields such as:Digital Media / Interactive DesignInformation Science or related disciplineData Science / Data AnalyticsDigital Media / Digital ArtsInteractive Media / Interactive DesignFamiliarity or exposure to:Microsoft TeamsThe Museum System (TMS)PictionBloomberg ConnectsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage data accuratelyExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong written communication and editing abilitiesPreferredExperience with digital media tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, audio/video editing software)Basic understanding of metadata standards and collections management practicesExposure to interactive technologies, AR/VR platforms, or digital exhibition designInterest in art, museums, and visitor experience innovationDesired AttributesProactive, self-motivated, and eager to learnStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsPassion for leveraging technology to enhance arts and cultural experiencesAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentOur Core ValuesAct with Integrity: We are honest and ethical.Build Inclusivity: We create spaces where everyone can feel like they belong.Communicate Respectfully: We listen intentionally and advocate for diverse perspectives.Embrace and Drive Change: We are innovative, creative, and solutions driven.Foster Connections: We collaborate around shared goals.Maintain Balance: We encourage ourselves and each other to reflect and recharge.Remain Curious: We pursue personal and professional learning.Equity, Diversity, and InclusionThe Dallas Museum of Art fosters equity, celebrates diversity, and supports inclusion.
