Position Description

Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a 12 month, full-time position as Assistant Coach for the Mens Lacrosse Program. The Assistant Coach will support all aspects of a competitive Division I mens lacrosse program, including student-athlete development, practice and game preparation, recruiting, scouting, academic support, alumni engagement, and administrative operations. This position plays an integral role in fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and student-athlete success while upholding the mission and values of Manhattan University, the MAAC, and the NCAA.

Position Reports To: Head Coach, Men's Lacrosse

Job Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Coach for Manhattan Universitys Men's Lacrosse will assist the head coach with the organization, development and implementation of a nationally competitive, NCAA Division I men's lacrosse program.
  • Assist in the coordination of coaching, recruiting, scouting, practice and game preparation, team travel, program administration, fundraising, and other duties as assigned by the Head Mens Lacrosse Coach.
  • Develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni and the general public.
  • Represent the mens lacrosse program and Manhattan University in a professional manner at campus, conference, alumni, and community events.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, MAAC Conference and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to the full academic development of student-athletes are essential.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of intercollegiate and/or professional playing and coaching experience.
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of NCAA, MAAC and institutional governing conduct of intercollegiate athletics.
  • Possess a valid drivers license.
  • Required to travel and work nights, weekends and some holidays.
