SCOPE OF ROLE:
Provide direct services within a 24-hour Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides clinical treatment in accordance with scope of practice and regulations governing 14 NYCRR Part 600 and other applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Actively monitors the integrity of consumer data and is responsible for the reliability and accuracy of clinical data housed in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management systems; documents all services in accordance with organizational policies, NYSOMH regulations, and all relevant federal laws; and maintains strict confidentiality of consumers currently engaged in or formerly receiving treatment services.
In coordination with relevant members of the management team, conducts limited outreach and marketing to potential internal and external referral sources; serves as an active liaison with community service providers, hospitals, and other prospective referral sources as required.
Coordinates care with nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, and administrative staff, and collaborates closely with external clinicians as appropriate.
Provides individual and group therapy services for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
Provides crisis intervention services as appropriate.
Makes community referral recommendations to the indicated Level of Care (LOC) as appropriate.
Utilizes best practices and evidence-based approaches to treatment consistent with organizational culture, including integrated health and mental health care, trauma-informed care, rehabilitation and recovery, culturally responsive care, and wellness-focused approaches.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field required
NYS licensure required: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LCAT
High degree of computer literacy
Ability to work some late evenings and weekends
Experience in a crisis, respite, or residential setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
CASAC or CASAC-T preferred
Familiarity with recovery-oriented and evidence-based clinical practices
Experience working with dually diagnosed individuals
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations (adults, youth, and children)
Availability to provide services in a 24-hour, crisis-oriented setting
Bilingual Spanish preferred
