Job Description
A healthcare services organization in New York City is seeking a CASAC or CASAC-T to join their team in Queens as a Mental Health Counselor. This onsite role supports a residential program through screening, intake assessments, admissions coordination, and referral support for individuals entering substance use treatment.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday; may include Tuesday through Saturday
- Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Setting: Onsite, residential program
Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake assessments using established screening and assessment tools
- Coordinate and complete the admissions process to support accurate daily census management
- Review clinical documentation to determine appropriateness for treatment
- Facilitate referrals for individuals who are not appropriate for services
- Participate in case conferences, clinical meetings, trainings, and staff reviews
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of Admissions or Intake experience in substance use treatment
- High School Diploma / GED
- CASAC or CASAC-T certification
- Direct Admissions experience
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Familiarity with LOCADTR3 or similar intake systems
