Access Services is seeking a full-time Mental Health Recovery Coach for our Community Residential Rehabilitation Group Home located in Allentown, PA! You will have the opportunity to assist individuals with mental health needs in their homes and in their community. You will support individuals through a variety of tasks and activities using creative problem solving and interpersonal skills. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support program alumni in managing crisis and connecting with a social network. 
  • Maintain a cooperative and caring attitude toward others with a view of seeing the needs of others as more important than your own. 
  • Meet with Assistant Director for supervision on a regular basis. 
  • Help ensure the highest quality of care to individuals in helping them meet their needs. 
  • Ensure own proper conduct and fair representation of Access Services. 
  • Maintain effective working relationships with personnel from state and local agencies to coordinate the delivery of services for individuals. 
  • Report any operational or staff concerns according to Access Services’ established policies and procedures. 
  • Provide accurate and timely communication to the Assistant Director regarding the individual. 
  • Maintain daily log and other documentation as requested by the supervisor/mentor in the EHR (electronic health record system). 
  • Attend all necessary meetings related to support activities. 
  • Complete personal care as needed. 

 

Requirements

The selected candidate must meet all qualifying and ongoing job criteria including background checks, physical examination, and a driving history record. 

Driving Requirements:  

  • A valid US driver’s license for at least two years, not including time with permit.  
  • No serious traffic convictions within the past three years. (Serious convictions include, but are not limited to, DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or three or more traffic violations and/or at-fault accidents within that period).  
  • Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours. Vehicle must have valid registration and inspection stickers.  
  • Valid auto insurance. You will be asked to provide proof that you are a covered driver on the policy. 

Education: High school or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in a related human services field including special education, psychology or social work preferred.   

Certification: Certification from a County CPS program is welcomed. 

Work Experience: One year of experience in direct care OR with individuals with mental health disorders is required. 

This position requires the ability to travel during a normal workday to successfully carry out the expectations of this position. Therefore, employees will need to drive their personal vehicle and/or an agency-owned vehicle to meet these expectations. Employee is expected to always drive in a safe manner, meet eligibility criteria outlined in our Motor Vehicle Policy, be available and willing to drive during work schedule, and successfully pass the Agency’s substance abuse screening at any time during employment. There may be limited exceptions, which should be identified and worked through with the supervisor. 

Benefits

Compensation, Schedule, and Benefits: 

The base rate for this position starts at $18/hour. 

Currently, there is a differential rate for the Saturday shift. The differential rate is $1 extra per hour for the 3PM-11PM shift on Saturdays. 

(Differential rates are available based on fluctuating need and can be discussed at the interview).

The full-time schedule is: 

Monday 3PM-11PM Tuesday 3PM-11PM, Wednesday 3PM-11PM, Saturday 3PM-11PM, Sunday 7AM-3PM (off Thursday and Friday).
