Location: 5000 Birch St, Newport Beach, California 92660, Suite 1400 ON-SITE

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Full-time)

  • 2 days a week 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • 3 days a week: 10:30am - 7:00pm

We’re looking for a passionate Therapist to create joy and heal generations at Embark Behavioral Health’s IOP/PHP program in Newport Beach, CA—a beautiful coastal community with a vibrant blend of beach life, art, and wellness! 

 

We’re dedicated to reducing adolescent anxiety, depression, and suicide rates—and we need your expertise to help make it happen. At Embark, you’ll join a comprehensive team that includes Licensed Therapists, Clinical Support Staff, a Music Therapist, a Yoga Therapist, a Registered Art Therapist, and two Therapy Support Dogs, all creating a vibrant, collaborative environment.

 

With small caseloads, no weekends or on-call shifts, and a location as inspiring as our work, you’ll have room for true clinical creativity and growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with clients ages 12-28. Typical caseload is 6 clients. 
  • Embrace a collaborative team approach with weekly 1:1s, group supervision, and treatment team meetings.
  • Plan, implement, and adjust individualized treatment courses, ensuring client-centered care.
  • Conduct family, group, and 1:1 therapy sessions, driving therapeutic progress with evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain regular communication with families, providing parent coaching and support.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation, adhere to treatment standards, and oversee program completion and discharge plans.
  • Contribute to program goals by implementing and meeting outcomes testing and standards.
  • Oversee program completion and discharge requirements, developing comprehensive discharge plans and reviewing them with students and their families.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws on documentation, reporting, confidentiality, and working with government agencies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and a results-driven, empathetic approach.
Qualifications:
  • Required: Provisionally licensed therapist in State of California: Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, Associate Marriage Family Therapist
  • Minimum: Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences, including Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: High-acuity experience (IOP/PHP, Residential, Psychiatric Hospital, Crisis Stabilization) with relational, experiential, and evidence based systemic techniques.
  • Preferred: 1 - 2 years of working experience as an child therapist leading individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Proficiency in incorporating clinical diagnostic and assessment instruments to monitor client progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Strong ability to work independently while taking initiative and maintaining high standards.
