Description

Nexus Family Healing-Woodbourne Campus is looking to add three (3) Mental Health Therapists to our team!

Now offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus!

Our Woodbourne Campus is located on a historic site in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland, and has been helping kids in need for over 200 years, originally as an orphanage in the early 1800s. In 2012, Nexus Family Healing affiliated with location, bringing our innovative trauma-informed practices to the youth of Baltimore.

Nexus Family Healing-Woodbourne is seeking a licensed social worker or counselor that is well-versed with trauma-informed practices and clinical diagnosis treatment processes to provide mental and behavioral health services to our youth & teen residential clients. Salary Range: $70,000 - $77,000, plus the $5,000 sign-on!

Schedule: typically, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm

Location: 1301 Woodbourne Ave, Baltimore, MD

Position Summary: Provide overall management of youth's treatment through active engagement, clinical assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. Therapist will provide clinical insight and work from a trauma informed lens to enhance the milieu and programming. Engage with families through family therapy and treatment planning. Collaborate with the community and providers related to the youth's progress and discharge planning.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based individual and family therapy for youth and families.
  • Complete clinical assessments and develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with youth, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support treatment goals and progress.
  • Develop and facilitate milieu and treatment groups that are trauma informed, educational, and treatment focused.
  • Coach and support direct care staff in trauma-informed practices, relationship-building, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and aftercare services to ensure successful transitions to the community.
  • Maintain communication with families, schools, social services, legal representatives, and other treatment providers.
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with organizational, regulatory, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
  • Provide clinical consultation and contribute to a positive, trauma-informed treatment environment.

Requirements

  • Education: Master's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology, counseling, or clinically related fields
  • Licensure: minimum of LGSW, LMSW or LGPC licensure
  • Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements
  • Successfully participate and complete a Safety Crisis Management exam and training
  • Strong professional writing and clinical documentation skills
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals and understand their unique needs and challenges
  • Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Fully licensed in appropriate state as an LCSW, LCPC, LCSW-C
  • Related residential or human services experience working with youth and families
