Summary

Gain practical work experience through assisting in the implementation of mental well-being programs and training in the Office of Health and Wellness. This role works on the following programs: PAWS Therapy Dog Team, mental well-being programs (mindfulness, self-care kits, special events), individual well-being coaching, and mental health trainings. The position reports to the Health Educator & Mental Health Focus in the Office of Health and Wellness.

Essential Functions

  • Assist at therapy dog events.
  • Maintain volunteer records, such as contact information and volunteer paperwork.
  • Use the BGSU Serves platform to manage events and volunteers.
  • Track program registration, communicate with registrants, and track program attendance.
  • Manage program supplies, including organizing, inventory, and packing.
  • Input data into Excel to track program outcomes and track budget information.
  • Lead guided meditation sessions over Zoom.
  • Provide individual well-being coaching to students.
  • Assist with program marketing materials.
  • Retain confidential material.
  • Act as First Responder to accidents and incidents.
  • Meet with supervisor regularly.
  • Perform functions of other employees in their absence.
  • Work special events outside of normal hours of operation as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possess and maintain current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications.
  • Efficient in the BGSU Serves/Give Pulse platform.
  • Efficient in Microsoft 365 including Excel and Word.
  • Efficient in Qualtrics.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, professional manner and friendly demeanors.
  • Work independently and in a team.
  • Proven superior level of interpersonal skills.
