This

position

Teacher

Mentor

Duties

Responsibilities

include:

Provide

informational,

instructional

and

social/emotional

support

for

teachers

enrolled

in

the

GITS

Induction

Program.

Meet

weekly

with

Mentees.

Over

the

course

of

a

month,

there

should

be

an

accumulation

of

3

hours

of

Mentor/Mentee

meeting

time.

Schedule

and

plan

collaborative

teaching

experiences,

observations,

professional

development,

etc.

Participate

in

scheduled

district

mentor

meetings.

Keep

records

and

logs

pertaining

to

contact

time,

content,

goals,

professional

development,

etc.

Participate

in

additional

mentor

training

when

appropriate.

Orient

their

mentee

to

their

building

and

district

culture

and

procedures

as

well

as

the

Grosse

Ile

Community.

Agree

to

accept

and

honor

the

premise

that

any

and

all

information,

material,

logs,

journals,

and

critiques

gathered

during

the

mentoring

process

is

the

private

property

of

the

Mentee.
