We’re looking for an experienced
MEP (Central Utility Plant) Superintendent to take a hands-on leadership role on a large-scale construction project in Boise, ID.
This is an opportunity for someone who knows how to run the field, coordinate multiple trades, resolve issues quickly, and keep complex construction activities moving safely and on schedule.
In this role, you’ll lead construction coordination and integration across site projects, serving as a key point of contact for field-level issues involving safety, security, logistics, staging, work areas, and multi-discipline conflicts.
What you’ll be doing:- Provide field supervision and leadership for trade contractors and construction management personnel
- Coordinate MEP/CUP construction activities across multiple disciplines and workstreams
- Manage site logistics, including staging areas, work areas, security, and construction coordination
- Build strong working relationships with trade management, site managers, supervisors, and craft personnel
- Drive contractor safety performance and reinforce a strong incident- and injury-free culture
- Resolve field-level conflicts and remove roadblocks impacting construction progress
- Lead daily field communication, including whiteboard meetings, stand-downs, and all-hands meetings
- Ensure effective communication between construction management, trade leadership, and field personnel
- Monitor contractor compliance with site protocols, procedures, and client requirements
- Ensure micro-schedules are updated accurately and on time
- Coordinate field-driven changes to minimize schedule impacts
- Oversee the RFI process and coordinate with design and engineering teams
- Lead weekly site observation walks, ensure appropriate participation, and communicate findings to project stakeholders
What we’re looking for:- 10+ years of construction industry experience, including project management and large workforce/headcount management
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Experience managing large, complex construction projects
- Strong technical construction knowledge, ideally involving MEP and/or central utility plant environments
- Proven ability to lead contractors and field teams independently
- Ability to take issues from identification through final resolution
- Strong task, resource, and schedule management skills
- Excellent verbal communication and organizational abilities
- Strong people-management skills, including addressing performance issues and communicating difficult messages effectively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment where safety, schedule, coordination, and execution are critical
