MEP Designer - Plumbing

AsanMEPDesigner - Plumbing at Z Modular, you will play a key role in developing and coordinating plumbing and mechanical systems for innovative modular construction projects. This position requires strong technical design expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across design, engineering, and construction teams. You will have the opportunity todirectlyimpactprojectsuccessbycreatinghigh-qualityconstructiondocumentsandshopdrawingsthatsupportefficientmanufacturingandinstallationprocesses.

You willcollaboratewitharchitects,engineers,contractors,fabricators,andinternaldesignteamstoensurebuildingsystemsarefullycoordinatedandalignedwithprojectrequirements.ThisisahybridrolelocatedinAustin,TX;Chandler,AZ;orTroy,MI.

WhatYou'llDo

• Developsandcoordinatesplumbingandmechanicalbuildingsystemdesignsformodularconstructionprojects.
• CreatesandmaintainsRevit®BIMmodels,constructiondrawings,shopdrawings,andprojectdocumentation.
• Reviewsexistingbuildingdesignsanddevelopsnewdetailsanddesignsolutionstosupportprojectrequirements.
• Adaptsanddevelopsmodularconstructiondetailsforpermit,construction,andfabricationdrawingpackages.
• Completesbuildingdocumentationpackages,includingcustomizedRevitfamilies,schedules,andcoordinateddesigndeliverables.
• Reviewsdesigndocumentsandidentifiesquestions,conflicts,inconsistencies,andcoordinationissues.
• Collaborateswithseniordesignersandprojectteamstoidentifyproductionrequirementsandprojectpriorities.
• Organizesandmanagesdrawingpackages,includingpermitdrawings,constructiondocuments,andshopdrawings.
• Coordinatesbuildingsystemswitharchitects,engineers,contractors,fabricators,andinternalstakeholders.
• Supportsthedevelopmentofefficientdesignsolutionsthatalignwithmodularmanufacturingandconstructionprocesses.
• Assistswithmechanicalsystemdesignactivitieswhilemaintainingaprimaryfocusonplumbingsystemdesign.
• Contributestocontinuousimprovementeffortssupportinginnovation,automation,andmodularconstructioninitiatives.

WhoYouAre

• 3-5yearsofexperienceutilizingRevit®BIMsoftwarewithinanengineering,construction,ordesignenvironment.
• Engineeringdegree,EngineeringTechnologistdiploma,orequivalenteducationandexperience.
• Experiencedesigningplumbingsystemsandsupportingmechanicalsystemcoordination.
• StrongproficiencywithRevit®BIMsoftware.
• Experienceproducingconstructiondrawings,shopdrawings,andtechnicaldesigndetails.
• Strongunderstandingofbuildingsystemscoordination,constructiondocumentation,anddesigndevelopmentprocesses.
• Experiencecollaboratingwitharchitects,engineers,contractors,fabricators,andmultidisciplinaryprojectteams.
• Knowledgeofbuildingcodes,regulations,andindustrystandardspreferred.
• EITorProfessionalEngineerdesignationconsideredanasset.
• Knowledgeofcontractadministrationandprojectcoordinationprocessesconsideredanasset.
• Excellentcommunication,collaboration,andrelationship-buildingskills.
• Strongattentiontodetailwiththeabilitytoidentifyandresolvedesignconflictsandcoordinationchallenges.
• Demonstratedproblem-solvingabilitiesandaproactiveapproachtoprojectexecution.
