MEP Electrical Design Engineer – Modular Healthcare Facilities

We are a hybrid service-and-product organization spanning architecture, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and construction. Our MEP team is growing quickly and delivering new healthcare buildings across multiple states.

A Day in This Role

You will collaborate with engineers, architects, designers, fabricators, and installers in a fast-paced environment. As a key contributor on the MEP team, you will help drive projects using our DMC delivery methodology, bridging design with manufacturing and field assembly.

What You'll Tackle

• Engineer facility power systems to meet client objectives on multidisciplinary projects.
• Develop electrical distribution and equipment layouts, working closely with architects, engineers, and detailers to produce a unified building model.
• Run system analyses: load calculations, circuit and component sizing, overcurrent protective device selective coordination, and lighting/illumination studies.
• Lay out communications and life-safety systems (e.g., fire alarm) and produce single-line diagrams.
• Support production by translating designs into manufacturable scopes, 3D models, and detailed documentation for fabrication and construction.
• Build and maintain models for permit packages, manufacturing drawings, and field shop drawings.
• Conduct self-checks and participate in interdisciplinary QA reviews to ensure compliance with national and local codes and regulations.
• Partner with manufacturing and field teams to improve quality, flow, and implementation efficiency.
• Work with suppliers and vendors on specifications, product selections, and equipment integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Comfort with 3D design tools; strong preference for Revit experience.
• Self-directed yet highly collaborative; reliable and deadline-driven.
• Detail-focused with a commitment to quality.

Preferred

• FE/EIT (or on the path to licensure).
• Background in facility electrical system analysis.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electrical Code).
