MEP Manager

Responsibilities:

Brasfield & Gorrie is seeking an MEP manager with experience supporting projects through the entire life cycle in any of our core market sectors (mission critical, healthcare, industrial, or commercial). The ideal candidate is as comfortable in the field working with a trade partner to solve a problem as they are in a conference room leading a commissioning meeting. This candidate should have experience with some or all of the following: preconstruction, design development, procurement, construction operations, quality, startup and commissioning. This candidate will work with our internal departments (Preconstruction, VDC, Scheduling), project teams, owners' representatives, owner vendors, commissioning agents, and engineering teams to deliver best-in-class MEP infrastructure.

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Review contract documents, making suggestions and recommendations as they relate to MEP scopes of work.
• Review MEP trade partner/OFCI submittals and shop drawings to ensure alignment with the project documents.
• Implement Brasfield & Gorrie's quality and commissioning process throughout the project, Level 1 to Level 5, as applicable.
• Facilitate the quality assurance program for owner-furnished equipment, including review of specifications, submittals, factory witness testing, freight and logistics, care and custody, protection, installation, and startup and commissioning.
• Manage commissioning software, e.g., CxAlloy, ACC Build, BIM 360, etc., for the project, from checklist development and completion to associated issue management, as applicable.
• Review and approve MOPs for energization, tie-ins, fill and flush, etc.
• Review project documents related to installation and equipment, e.g., torque logs, acceptance testing, and startup reports.
• Coordinate and lead equipment pre-energization inspections for sign-off and acceptance.
• Develop and manage the commissioning schedule, working with trade partners, OFCI vendors, and commissioning agents on durations and sequence.
• Actively participate in and/or lead internal and client meetings related to design, schedule, procurement, issue resolution, and safety (Root Cause Analysis) throughout the life cycle of the project.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with the project design and construction teams, both internal and external to the client organization.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure all MEP systems are integrated seamlessly into the overall project design.
• Support the project team with the management of MEP trade partners throughout the life cycle of the project, including scope and scope delineation, means and methods, issue resolution, change order accuracy, and scheduling.
• Supervise, develop, and mentor project staff, as applicable.

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in the construction industry.
• A degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• Intermediate knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or low-voltage systems.
• General understanding of building codes, mechanical codes, electrical codes, and/or plumbing codes.
• Intermediate experience managing relationships with owners' representatives, architects, engineers, and clients on a professional level while supervising trade partners and vendors is a priority.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Quality and commissioning experience on large-scale projects is a plus but not a requirement for consideration.
