MEP/Plumbing Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MEP/Plumbing Engineer eager to advance their career with an industry leader. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting commercial and institutional building projects.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems, including sanitary, venting, water distribution, and gas piping systems.
• Perform system design calculations, pipe sizing, and layout routing within buildings.
• Select equipment for use in building systems.
• Prepare contract drawings detailing the designed systems.
• Ensure systems comply with applicable codes.
• Communicate and coordinate with architects, owners, other engineering disciplines, vendors, building officials, and other consultants throughout the design phases.
• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues.
• Manage a small project, work area, or technical skill set, monitor the quality of work, and engage in client liaison.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in commercial/institutional building projects.
• 5 years of experience designing HVAC/Plumbing systems for buildings.
• Strong capabilities in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with AutoCAD Fabrication is a plus.
• EIT or PE license desired.
• Strong understanding of national building codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking.
• Willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment.
• Ability to multitask across multiple projects to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey thoughts and technical ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
