MEP Project Manager

Location: Uptown, Manhattan

Salary: $125-130,000

Job Summary:

The MEP Project Manager is responsible for managing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scopes for an affluent NYC client.  This role works 5 days a week onsite, Uptown Manhattan ensuring MEP systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, brand standards, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee MEP scopes from preconstruction through closeout for retail buildouts, renovations, and rollouts
• Coordinate MEP design consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams across multiple locations
• Review and manage MEP drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
• Ensure compliance with local and state codes, utility regulations, and client standards
• Manage MEP schedules and sequencing to support fast‑track retail construction timelines
• Track budgets, cost reports, change orders, and forecasts related to MEP work
• Conduct virtual coordination meetings and periodic site visits as needed
• Support procurement of long‑lead MEP materials and equipment
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover documentation
• Partner with project managers, superintendents, and clients to resolve MEP issues quickly
• Support closeout activities including as‑builts, O&M manuals, and warranties

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5 years of experience managing MEP scopes in retail or commercial construction
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems
• Experience with retail rollouts, tenant fit‑outs, or multi‑site programs preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction software
• Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
