Merchandise Assistant (Junior) – Framingham, MA (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $23.00 – $24.50/hr
Duration: 9 Months
Location: Framingham
Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite Tue & Wed)
Hours: 36.25 hrs/week
Job Summary
We are seeking a Junior Merchandise Assistant to support Buyers and Merchandise leadership with purchase orders, vendor coordination, and administrative operations. This role is ideal for candidates with strong organizational skills and experience in retail/merchandising environments.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Order Management
Create, edit, and manage domestic & import purchase orders
Ensure accuracy of ASN/EDI data and PO tracking
Follow up on late shipments, allocations, and vendor timelines
Partner with Planning & Allocation teams to ensure timely PO processing
Resolve discrepancies (over/under shipments, chargebacks, cost issues)
Vendor Communication
Communicate daily with 50+ vendors via email and phone
Manage vendor inquiries, scheduling, and relationship coordination
Maintain accurate vendor databases
Administrative & Operational Support
Support 2–4 Buyers and Merchandise leadership
Coordinate travel arrangements and vendor visits
Maintain spreadsheets (weekly spend tracking, reports)
Organize reports, documentation, and filing systems
Manage sample tracking, display setup, and sample room organization
Assist with cross-functional team support and special projects
Required Skills & Experience
Experience in retail, merchandising, buying, or supply chain support
Strong knowledge of purchase orders, vendor coordination, and inventory processes
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Nice to Have
Experience with EDI/ASN systems
Exposure to Planning & Allocation functions
Retail or corporate buying office experience
