Location: Framingham, MA (Hybrid – In Office Tuesdays & Wednesdays) Duration: 11+ Month Contract with Potential for Conversion Pay Rate: $23.00/hour
My name is Ansley and I am a Recruiter with The Fountain Group. We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Merchandise Assistant - Junior for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Framingham, MA. Details of the position are as follows:
Position Overview
The Merchandise Assistant supports 2–4 Buyers and an AVP, Merchandise Manager by handling purchase orders, vendor communication, administrative tasks, and merchandising support. This role works closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure purchase orders are processed accurately, shipments stay on schedule, and merchandising operations run efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with up to four years of professional experience who has strong organizational skills and solid Excel knowledge.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Excel assessment required for interview)
Excellent organizational, administrative, and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Experience supporting buyers, merchandising, purchasing, supply chain, retail operations, or administrative teams is preferred
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Must be interested in a long-term opportunity with potential for permanent conversion
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, revise, and maintain domestic and import purchase orders
Monitor purchase orders and follow up on late vendor shipments
Communicate daily with vendors regarding purchase orders, allocations, shipping, and issue resolution
Coordinate travel arrangements and vendor meetings for Buyers and Merchandise Managers
Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track spending and merchandising data
Organize reports, files, merchandise samples, and departmental documentation
Track merchandise samples and coordinate sample requests and returns
Maintain vendor databases and support cross-functional teams as needed
Assist with special projects, reporting, and merchandising support activities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Recent graduate to 4 years of related experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy
Additional Information
Hybrid schedule: In office Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Excel test required for candidates selected for interviews
Potential for permanent conversion—only candidates interested in converting should be submitted
