Role: Assortment Planner North America (Contract)
Location: Beaverton, OR (Onsite at PHK | Fridays Work from Home)
Duration: 9 Weeks + 5 Days Contract (High Possibility of Extension)


Position Overview:
We are seeking an Assortment Planner to support the North America Planning team during a leave coverage assignment. This role will play a critical part in driving inventory, sales, and assortment planning strategies while supporting product forecasting, pricing, and inventory management activities.
The ideal candidate will have prior retail planning experience, strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights. This position offers an opportunity to work within a highly collaborative planning environment while owning key planning processes and business reporting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support product forecasting and pricing processes through reporting, data analysis, and actionable business recommendations.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance reporting tools used across the planning organization.
  • Analyze weekly business performance and report forecast variances.
  • Manage weekly markdown processes and ensure alignment with business stakeholders.
  • Monitor product pricing across the marketplace and portfolio to support pricing strategies.
  • Support monthly and seasonal inventory planning activities.
  • Manage product lifecycle activities, including close-out processes and aging inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain sales, inventory, and assortment plans.
  • Conduct weekly business reviews, buyer reviews, and future planning activities.
  • Present forecasts, business performance updates, and strategic recommendations to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, planning, and business partners to drive profitable and consumer-focused assortment strategies.
  • Communicate financial results, forecasts, and action plans to stakeholders on a regular basis.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Merchandising, or related field.
  • 2 3 years of experience in Retail Planning, Assortment Planning, Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning, or related disciplines.
  • Experience conducting:
    • Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs)
    • Buyer Reviews
    • Future/Later Season Planning
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and data interpretation abilities.
  • Ability to organize information from multiple stakeholders and create repeatable, scalable processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive results in an ambiguous environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working within our client or a similar retail organization.
  • Experience in Retail Planning, Merchandising, Inventory Management, or related operational functions.
  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as:
    • Power BI
    • Tableau
    • SQL
    • Snowflake
  • Experience presenting insights and recommendations to executive and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of retail inventory management, forecasting, and assortment planning.
