Merchandiser

Overview

Responsible for managing customer accounts, driving sales growth, and ensuring efficient inventory and merchandising operations while delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction, retention, and growth.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to expand account penetration and increase revenue.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Implement company programs and initiatives across assigned accounts.
  • Process orders, manage inventory, stock products, and handle returns accurately.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track sales activity, analyze trends, and support forecasting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality service and operational excellence.
  • Set up and optimize vending and VMI services at customer sites.
  • Support pricing strategies and monitor market trends to stay competitive.
  • Prepare accurate, timely sales reports and documentation.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused team environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–3 years of sales or service experience preferred.
  • Industry experience (industrial supplies, manufacturing, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Technical aptitude with ability to interpret product information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/order systems.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to work independently from a home office.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Regular travel within assigned territory; driving required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, walking).
  • Ability to work in varied customer site environments and follow safety/PPE requirements.
  • May require access to ITAR/CUI-regulated information.
