Position Overview Reporting to the Merchandising Director, the Merchandising Specialist is a key contributor responsible for supporting merchandising strategies, inventory management, and allocation activities that drive commercial performance and operational excellence. This role supports Retail Buying activities, optimizes in-season inventory productivity, and executes allocation strategies to ensure the right product is available in the right place at the right time. Through operational excellence and data-driven analysis, the Merchandising Specialist delivers actionable insights that support merchandising decisions, enhance inventory productivity, improve sell-through, and contribute to sustainable, profitable growth across the retail network. Your Impact Merchandising Strategy & Execution Support the execution of seasonal merchandising strategies and business priorities. Assist the Merchandising Director with seasonal buying activities and assortment planning. Prepare product analysis, assortment recaps, and business recommendations to support merchandising decisions. Analyze sales trends, inventory performance, and the product productivity to identify opportunities. Support seasonal product launches and in-season merchandising initiatives. Allocation & Inventory Management Execute allocation, replenishment, and inventory distribution activities across the retail network. Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment, transfers, and consolidations to optimize inventory productivity. Maintain store grading, allocation, and capacity models to support inventory planning. Partner with Logistics and Store Operations to support efficient product flow. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve allocation and inventory efficiency. Parter with HQ demand planning and monitor permanent product in region. Business Analysis & Reporting Prepare WTD, MTD, YTD, STD merchandising analysis: sales, inventory level, category performance and sell-through reports. Use of reporting tools to support business reviews. Analyze business trends and provide recommendations that support inventory optimization and merchandising decisions. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of merchandising data and reporting. Retail Buying Merchandising Support Support Retail Merchandisers throughout the seasonal buying process: including product analysis and hindsight, size curve recommendations, sizing activities, assortment consolidations. Assist in preparing seasonal buy documents, merchandising presentations, and product recaps. Support product allocation strategies and in-season inventory initiatives. Coordinate with Retail Operations and Visual Merchandising to support seasonal product launches and merchandising execution. Assist in developing product knowledge materials and merchandising communications for retail teams. Cross-Functional Partnership Partner closely with Retail, Planning, Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain, Visual Merchandising, and Store Operations to support merchandising initiatives. Maintain effective communication across departments to ensure timely execution of merchandising activities. Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance merchandising processes and inventory management. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in business, finance, merchandising, supply chain, or related field. Work Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in merchandising, allocation, merchandise planning, inventory management, or a related retail planning function. Experience supporting retail merchandising, buying, allocation, or merchandise planning within a luxury, premium, fashion, or specialty retail environment preferred. Core Skills & Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis. Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Tableau or Power BI preferred. Experience using merchandise planning systems; Board and MicroStrategy experience preferred. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to interpret merchandising data and communicate findings clearly. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced luxury retail environment. Travel 10% travel requirement (approximately two times a year for the buy October/November, May/June). Compensation and Benefits For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Moncler includes a reasonable estimate of the salary rate range for this role. This considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $70,000 to $85,000. In addition to competitive pay, the hired candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, paid parental leave, 11 paid holidays, accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation time, 2 personal days, employee discounts, and a retirement plan with employer contribution. The position requires 4 days per week on site in the Moncler Corporate Office, located in the heart of Soho, Manhattan.
