Your Impact

As a Store Merchandising - Store Environment Intern at Lowe's, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the strategies that shape how customers experience our stores. You'll work alongside Store Merchandising professionals to understand how product presentation, store environment, space, signage, and merchandising execution come together to create an engaging and seamless shopping experience.

Throughout the summer, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that support the evolution of Lowe's store environment while gaining exposure to the collaboration required across Merchandising, Store Operations, Marketing, Design, and other business functions.

This internship is ideal for students interested in combining retail strategy, merchandising, customer experience, creativity, and data-driven decision-making to solve real-world business challenges.

Our 10-week Summer Internship Program, May 24 - July 30, 2027, provides an immersive experience within a FORTUNE 100 home improvement company. This internship is based at the Lowe's Store Support Center in Mooresville, North Carolina (SSC-M). Our corporate campus provides opportunities to collaborate with business partners, build professional relationships, and gain exposure to teams that support Lowe's stores and customers across the country.

What You Will Learn

As a Store Merchandising - Store Environment Intern, you may gain experience in:

• Understanding how store environment and merchandising strategies influence the overall customer shopping experience.
• Learning how product placement, displays, signage, space, and visual merchandising work together within the retail environment.
• Supporting the development and execution of store merchandising initiatives and projects.
• Using customer, store, and business insights to identify opportunities to improve the in-store experience.
• Understanding how merchandising strategies are translated from concept into execution across Lowe's stores.
• Collaborating with cross-functional partners across Merchandising, Store Operations, Marketing, Design, Space Planning, and other business areas.
• Evaluating store merchandising concepts and identifying opportunities to improve consistency, functionality, and customer engagement.
• Developing project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Translating research, observations, and data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
• Presenting project findings and recommendations to business partners and leadership through effective storytelling and visualization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Merchandising, Retail Management, Marketing, Business, Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Analytics, or a related field.
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
• Ability to work at Lowe's Store Support Center in Mooresville, North Carolina for the duration of the internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Interest or experience in retail merchandising, store design, visual merchandising, customer experience, or store operations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance creative thinking with business and customer needs.
• Experience working on projects involving research, data analysis, presentations, or process improvement.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Previous retail, internship, academic project, leadership, or related professional experience is preferred.
• Passion for creating engaging and effective retail experiences for customers and associates.
