Merchant Partner- Onboarding & Activations

Russell Tobin & Associates is currently seeking a Merchant Partner to work for one of our top global tech clients! In this role, you will own the end-to-end activation of newly signed restaurant merchants. This role takes merchants from signed agreement through successful launch, including menu setup, POS configuration, photoshoot coordination, troubleshooting, merchant communication, and post-launch quality assurance.
 

Pay: $28-$31/hr. depending on experience

Location: Remote- US

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Merchant Onboarding & Activation

• Manage a high-volume pipeline of restaurant merchants through the activation process.
• Lead onboarding calls to explain activation steps, timelines, and expectations.
• Coordinate merchant requirements and follow up consistently to keep activations moving.
• Maintain accurate activation status, outreach activity, notes, and dates in internal trackers.

POS & Menu Configuration

• Upload and validate restaurant menu items against established SKU/menu requirements.
• Configure menus and photos across restaurant POS platforms and internal systems.
• Work with platforms including Toast, Square, Clover, Otter, UrbanPiper, and similar restaurant technology systems.
• Troubleshoot POS-specific issues and escalate technical questions through established workflows.

Photoshoot & Content Coordination

• Coordinate restaurant photoshoots through vendors such as Snappr and Ocus.
• Reschedule missed shoots, resolve quality issues, and escalate vendor concerns as needed.
• Ensure menus and photos meet activation requirements.

Merchant Follow-Up

• Own structured multi-week outreach for unresponsive merchants through phone and email.
• Document outreach attempts, escalate stalled activations, and appropriately document churn.

Launch QA

• Verify merchants are fully live following activation.
• QA menus, pricing, photos, and $12 Meal Box visibility.
• Communicate activation status, wins, and issues to cross-functional stakeholders through Slack.

 

Required Qualifications

• Restaurant, food & beverage, retail, or restaurant technology experience.
• Hands-on experience with POS systems such as Toast, Square, Clover, Otter, UrbanPiper, or similar.
• Experience in merchant onboarding, implementation, activation, POS support, restaurant technology, or SaaS onboarding.
• Strong phone and email communication skills with the ability to persistently follow up with merchants.
• Strong attention to detail and experience managing high-volume data/tracking.
• Comfortable working in Slack, ticketing systems, and escalation workflows.
• Ability to manage multiple merchants at different activation stages simultaneously.
• Bachelor's degree.
