Title: MES Consultant
Locations: Boise, ID
Duration: 06+ Months with Possible Extension.
Pay Range: $45-$50/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)


We are seeking an experienced Senior MES Functional Consultant with 8+ years of experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on expertise in Critical Manufacturing (CM) MES and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will lead MES implementation, enhancement, and support initiatives while partnering with business and manufacturing teams to deliver scalable Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions. This role requires strong functional expertise in production processes, quality management, traceability, and digital manufacturing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, upgrade, enhancement, and support of Critical Manufacturing (CM) MES solutions.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from manufacturing and operations stakeholders.
  • Design, configure, and optimize MES solutions to support production, quality, genealogy, and traceability processes.
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement of manufacturing execution processes across multiple production sites.
  • Support Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing transformation initiatives.
  • Configure and customize Critical Manufacturing MES applications, workflows, and business processes.
  • Design and implement MES functionalities including:
    • Production Dispatching
    • Work-in-Progress (WIP) Tracking
    • Genealogy & Traceability
    • Resource Management
    • Quality Management
    • Non-Conformance & CAPA
    • Electronic Work Instructions (EWI)
    • Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Data Collection
  • Support MES integrations with ERP, shop floor equipment, and enterprise applications.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and IT teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Prepare functional documentation, training materials, and support end-user adoption.
  • Participate in testing, deployment, and post-production support activities.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in MES and Manufacturing Operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Critical Manufacturing (CM) MES.
  • Expertise in MES functional consulting, solution design, and implementation.
  • Experience with:
    • Production Dispatching
    • WIP Tracking
    • Genealogy & Traceability
    • Resource Management
    • Quality Management
    • Non-Conformance & CAPA
    • Electronic Work Instructions
    • SPC/Data Collection
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and shop floor operations.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into MES solutions.
  • Knowledge of MES integration with ERP and manufacturing systems.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, and Digital Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with ISA-95, GMP, GxP, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience integrating MES with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing data analytics and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience with at least 5 years focused on Critical Manufacturing MES.
