In keeping with this philosophy, we offer a competitive benefitspackage including: Health insurance (medical, dental, vision), paid federal holidays,long- and short- term disability, life insurance, paid vacation, and a 401K matchingprogram.We are currently seeking a Metal Buildings Erection Superintendent to work anupcoming project in Bahrain.PRIMARY FUNCTION:The Metal Building Erection Superintendent will oversee and guide crews, ensuring thesafe and efficient erection of Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB). Thesuperintendent coordinates all field activities and serves as the primary on-site leader ofthe erection crew.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Supervision of the actual physical erection of the PEMB building in strictaccordance with design and contract documents• Develop and update construction schedules, identifying and resolving potentialdelays or issues• Will supervise a specific craft or trade; coordinate the activities of a variety ofsteel building erectors, professionals and laborers• Enforce safety and quality-control policies in accordance with EM 385-1-1• Maintain satisfactory relationships with clients and subcontractors• Ability to work in a team environment with other Project Managers, Engineersand Superintendents• Exercise skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues• Other duties as assigned by General Superintendent or Project ManagerKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:• Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a PEMB Erection Superintendent, with in-depth knowledge of PEMB erection, sequencing, and steel component installation• Strong supervisory skills to manage employees in teams, with excellentinterpersonal communication skills• Knowledge, skill, and experience with U.S. construction methods, techniques, andstandards• Ability to read, understand, and communicate PEMB shop drawings, erectiondrawings, and specifications• Must be authorized to work in the United States• Must be willing to work in Bahrain for project durationPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:• Experience working with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as a client• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certificationPHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:The demands described here are not exhaustive, but are representative of those that mustbe met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities toperform these essential functions in accordance with applicable law, provided that theindividual does not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others when performingsuch essential functions.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, amongother things, use hands to grasp and reach up with arms overhead, including manualdexterity to operate equipment, cut, pull wiring, and perform specialized skills. Theemployee must have the ability to regularly and for extended periods of time stoop, squat,stand, walk, twist, balance, climb (ladder and stairs of high-rise building), kneel, crouch,speak, carry, and hear. There is a minimal demand for sitting, other than during periodsof extended travel (such as to and from the project location). The employee must have theability to regularly lift, carry, push or pull and move up to 50 pounds of weight withoutassistance. The job imposes a substantial demand for physical agility and mobility,including the ability to maneuver safely throughout the work site. This position willrequire the use of personal protective equipment during various tasks and activities. Theemployee must be able to hear warning sounds and alarms, communicate effectively withcoworkers and follow spoken directions. Specific vision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception andability to adjust focus.Mental Demands:The position requires a high degree of concentration in a busy environment. There is asubstantial demand for analyzing, perceiving, comprehending, rapid decision making andexercising sound judgment to ensure individual and coworker safety in a potentiallydangerous environment. Ability to follow directions and meet deadlines is critical.Environmental Demands:The position entails working on a busy construction site overseas, generally away fromthe employee’s family, and in countries whose laws and social norms may be much morerestrictive than in the United States, with the potential for occasional periods of socialunrest, military action, interruption of normal services such as electricity and water,natural disasters, and the like.Work involves a 60-hour workweek, 6 days a week/ 10 hours per day. Flexibility withhours/days is required. Individuals must have comfort working in a high-stressenvironment and be able to perform the above activities in extreme hot, cold, humid, andwet conditions depending on location and season. Frequent exposure to constructionequipment and sharp tools, including power tools, and materials. May involve frequentrepetitive motions. Some exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals, potential electric shock,significant heights and high noise level, including high-pitched noises.
