Metal Fabrication & Joining Technologies Instructor

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 2:43pm

Pay Rate: In accordance with the D.T.A. Salary Schedule

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or the equivalent
• Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to metal fabrication & joining technologies
• An associate's degree may substitute for one of five years of required employment experience, provided that the degree includes subject matter related to one or more strands of the Vocational Technical Education Framework in metal fabrication & joining technologies*, and/or in education.
• A bachelor's degree may substitute for two of five years of required employment experience, provided that the degree includes subject matter related to the Technical Knowledge and Skills strand (Strand 2) of the Vocational Technical Education Framework in Metal Fabrication & Joining Technologies*, and/or in vocational education.

Instruction will be in accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Vocational Technical Education Frameworks for Metal Fabrication & Joining Technologies.

Physical Requirements/Handling and Moving Objects- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating objects.

Object Handling Categories: Work requires the ability to lift/carry objects routinely as follows:

• Heavy Lifting: Objects weighing 35-50 pounds lifted on occasion.

Other Physical Demands

• Work requires the ability to stand up to two or more hours at a time.
• Work requires the ability to stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity
• Work requires sufficient auditory and visual acuity to interact with others.

Evaluation: Evaluated in accordance with the DESE Standards and Indicators of Effective

Teaching Practice and the current Diman Regional Teachers' Association Contract.

Applicants applying for the position must have a preliminary or professional Chapter 74 license, or be able to obtain a waiver.
