Metal Finisher

Our client, an aerospace and defense manufacturer in Sterling Heights, is seeking a metal finishing technician to join their team. As a metal finisher technician, you will be part of the assembly team supporting production goals. The ideal candidate will have ability to work independently, a strong work ethic, and reliability which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Metal finishing technician

Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan

Pay Range: $18/hr-$20/hr

Shift: 1st shift: 5am-3:30pm Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts
2nd shift: 2pm-12:30am Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts
Saturday is mandatory overtime typically 6-8 hours
 

What’s the Job?

• fabrication, assembly, installation & repair of sheet metal products and components
• setting up fabricating machines including break press, metal muncher, rolling machine. etc
• assemble components according to blueprints and specs
• using gauge tools such as height gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc...

 What’s Needed?

• proficient in using metal fabricating machinery such as break press, rolling machines, grinders, etc...
• experience in qualifying sheet metal parts to fit models, check fixtures, and/or print specifications
• familiarity with airless paint spraying and auto painting techniques
• ability to read blueprints 
• capability of lifting 50 lbs unassisted
