Compensation & Hours
$19.98 per hour + $0.40 shift differential
Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 PM
Training: first 3 months on 1st shift
What you’ll do
Set up, program, test, and adjust machines to shear, pierce, extrude, bend, and form material according to specifications.
Operate shear equipment to process bus bar and steel.
Execute work orders in line with the production schedule and expedite when required.
Translate blueprints into accurate, finished parts.
Install, exchange, align, and lock punches, dies, and fixtures for each job.
When equipped, interface with an industrial robot for pick-and-place onto conveyors or other devices.
Load, position, and secure material against fixtures, clamps, and stops.
Observe equipment during operation and correct issues using the operator controls.
Inspect workpieces for defects like jagged edges or marred surfaces.
Verify dimensions using squares, tape measures, calipers, and similar tools.
Identify parts clearly with proper markings.
Stack fabricated pieces neatly on carts, conveyors, or designated devices.
Dispose of scrap and defective material and create scrap tickets to generate replacements.
Coordinate with Material Handlers to ensure availability of copper, aluminum, cold-rolled steel, galvanized steel, and other materials.
Maintain clean machines and a safe, organized work area.
At the Class A level, perform or assist maintenance with required equipment repairs.
Operate a forklift and other powered lifting/handling equipment to load machines and unload raw material from trucks.
Qualifications
Basic
Proficient with basic shop math
Able to read and write
Can interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of material
Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 10 hours
Skilled with basic hand and power tools
GED or equivalent experience
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred
Previous fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment
