Job Description
Role Overview:
Responsible for performing metallurgical preparation and evaluation of various types of coatings and materials for aircraft engine component repair.
Will operate typical metallurgical equipment including, but not limited to, hardness testing, micro-hardness testing, metallurgical sample preparation, stereo microscope, metallurgical microscope, chemical bath titration equipment, and provide analytical data accordingly.
Adhere to laboratory procedures when operating Lab equipment.
Will work in Services Technology Acceleration Center (STAC) metal lab as well as perform other related technical duties out on shop floor with training and guidance.
Responsible for and accountable for product safety and the quality of work, including, as a minimum, all elements defined in the GE's Quality Policy.
Basic Qualifications :
Associates degree (in Chemistry, Biology, Metallurgy, or related discipline preferred), or a High School diploma/GED and a minimum 2 years of experience with metallurgical processes in a manufacturing environment
1 or more years of experience with reading, understanding and correctly interpreting basic drawings and customer heat treatment and cleanliness specifications
1or more years of experience with Microsoft Office software to include Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
Must be capable of lifting or pulling 25-50 lbs.
