Overview:

Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgy Technician whose primary responsibility is to perform routine, metallurgical, mechanical, failure, corrosion testing facilitating metallurgy operations at site or at a laboratory.

 

Salary: $26- $28/hr DOE 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review specifications and customer paperwork to ensure testing is set up correctly
  • Perform standard and non-standard metallurgical evaluations (castings, grain size, recast, microstructure analysis, microhardness, corrosion testing, etc.)
  • Communicate with clients on matters of concern/interest
  • Prepare and review customer reports
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Metallurgy or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing
  • Good knowledge of interpreting specifications
  • Good report writing skill
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated, team-player with excellent organizational and communication skills
