The City of Sheridan is actively recruiting a customer-service minded problem solver to fill the position of Meter Technician. This position is responsible for performing
technical duties in the installation, repair, maintenance, and operation of the City of
Sheridan and SAWS water meters and infrastructure associated with reading meters.

**MAJOR DUTIES **
? Installs, maintains and repairs water meters and node readers in residential and commercial applications.
? Responds to work orders created by the customer service department. ? Performs meter tests for accuracy
? Performs leak detection for customers with high usage concerns.
? Turns water service on and off for emergency and non-emergency situations ?Hangs door hangers for delinquent customers.
? Performs non-payment turnoff/turn on for delinquent customers.
? Locates curb stops and meter pits for customers
? Performs maintenance and installation of hydrant meters for contractors. ?Maintains shop inventory of meters, parts and supplies.
? Assists in the maintenance and repair of the collection and distribution system when necessary.
? Attends required training
? Responds to and resolves customer questions and complaints
? Reads and interprets maps and permits on the Webviewer.
