Position Purpose:
This is a full-time Field Technician position with Veolia, a leading energy management and consulting firm based in New York City. Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning electrical and mechanical metering equipment across a variety of commercial, residential, and industrial facilities, including:
Commercial Real Estate (office buildings and mixed-use facilities)
Residential Real Estate (mixed use)
Retail Real Estate
Government and State Facilities
Federal Facilities
Core Duties Include:
Interpreting technical drawings, commissioning procedures, and applicable safety regulations
Performing physical testing of electrical and mechanical equipment using specialized instrumentation
Preparing detailed commissioning and start-up reports tailored to specific facilities
Submitting progress reports and maintaining accurate project documentation
Responding to customer inquiries with professionalism and urgency
Collaborating effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams
Supporting field installations, troubleshooting, and system verification activities
Work Environment:
Education/Experience/Background:
Option A
Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline
1-3 years of professional experience in:
Electrical or mechanical controls/troubleshooting
HVAC systems
Fire alarm systems
Basic networking
Related technical fields
Option B
3-5 years of professional experience as a:
Service Technician
Controls Installer
Commissioning Agent
Construction Manager
Demonstrated experience with:
Building controls
Test and balance procedures
Building systems maintenance
Hands-on experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
Previous metering installation and commissioning experience
Familiarity with energy management and efficiency best practices
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Pay Range: $28.85 to $33.65 per hour.
