Location: Long Beach, CA 90806 (On-site) Pay Rate: $30.00/hr Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hrs/week (flexible schedule) Industry: Aerospace (ITAR environment)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Metrology Coordinator to coordinate and track calibration for measuring and test equipment. This role ensures tools remain within calibration intervals, records are audit-ready, and internal teams/vendors stay aligned to support production and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and maintain calibration schedules for all measuring and test equipment.
Monitor upcoming, overdue, and completed calibrations to ensure compliance with required intervals.
Schedule internal and external calibration activities based on equipment requirements, priorities, and production needs.
Coordinate with technicians, equipment owners, departments, and outside calibration vendors to ensure tools are available and calibrated on time.
Track equipment status throughout the calibration process (e.g., out for calibration, in lab, awaiting calibration, calibrated).
Maintain accurate calibration records including certificates, due dates, asset info, and equipment locations within the calibration management system.
Review calibration certificates for accuracy, completeness, and traceability before releasing equipment back to service.
Communicate upcoming and overdue calibration requirements to equipment owners and department personnel.
Help manage calibration workload to support lab capacity, turnaround-time goals, and business priorities.
Support continuous improvement of calibration scheduling and equipment management processes.
Ensure calibration activities follow company procedures, quality requirements, and applicable standards.
Required Qualifications
Aerospace and quality experience (required).
Experience coordinating calibration schedules and managing calibration documentation/records.
Strong attention to detail when reviewing calibration certificates and maintaining traceable records.
Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders (production, quality, equipment owners, external vendors).
Comfortable working on-site in a manufacturing environment.
Helpful / Preferred
Familiarity with common measurement tools (e.g., calipers).
Experience using a calibration management system or asset tracking database.
