Own the plan. Eliminate escapes. Accelerate flow.

If you love turning complex drawings into precise, auditable inspection plans, this role is for you. You’ll be the quality planner who bridges Engineering and the shop floor, ensuring every feature is verifiable, every record is traceable, and every shipment meets customer and regulatory expectations.

Why this role matters

  • Reduce defects by engineering risk‑based Inspection Control Plans across incoming, in‑process, final, and special inspections.
  • Protect customers by defining clear acceptance criteria, sampling strategies, and inspection frequency aligned with AS9100 and customer specs.
  • Enable velocity by configuring SAP and digital planning tools so inspectors execute accurately and records are complete.

What you’ll do

  • Inspection planning: Build and maintain ICPs; define inspection points, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria; manage routings and characteristics in SAP.
  • Requirements translation: Convert engineering drawings/models/notes into measurable inspection requirements; identify and control KCs, SCs, and other critical items; resolve ambiguities with Engineering.
  • Measurement strategy: Select appropriate gaging and verification methods; define fixtures and step-by-step test sequences compliant with industry and customer standards.
  • Metrology coordination: Ensure gages/fixtures are available, capable, and calibrated by partnering with Metrology/Calibration.
  • Supplier and incoming support: Specify incoming inspection and special verifications; align supplier expectations; prepare/support AS9102 FAI packages; trigger partial/full FAI when changes require it.
  • Documentation control: Create revision‑controlled check sheets, visual work instructions, and quality alerts; keep records auditable, accessible, and production‑ready.
  • Analytics and systems: Use SPC/capability tools (e.g., Minitab/Excel) and SAP to manage inspection data, notifications, routings, and analysis.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years in manufacturing/quality within cross‑functional teams.
